The Norwalk Police Department wrote that at 11:52 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2022, a dispatch center received a 911 call of a “disturbance” at 16 Nelson Avenue.
“Arriving Patrol Division Officers located a male victim within the residence suffering from gunshot wounds,” the police wrote. “Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Service evaluated the male victim and declared him deceased.”
The remainder of the message sought tips from potential witnesses and told the community that no threat was ongoing.
A few hours later, more details were revealed.
The department said that Ellen Wink, 61, of a neighboring address at 18 Nelson Avenue, had been arrested and charged with murder. The “disturbance” was between Wink and a male victim; the male victim had “sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” the police reiterated.
Wink’s bond was set at $1 million; a court date was scheduled for Feb. 1, 2022…”
