Gates says he “still wouldn’t ban anyone from being worth a billion,” even though he believes that the mega-rich need to pay higher tax rates.
“I knew everybody’s license plates so I could look out in the parking lot and see when did people come in [and] when were they leaving,” Gates admitted to the BBC.
The tech mogul’s net worth is estimated at over $96 billion. Gates was also the richest person in the world from 1995 until 2008 when he was surpassed by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
