The famous Texas oilman H. L. Hunt was an avid supporter of the white supremacist John Birch Society, whose rally signs often warned that “Race mixing is communism.”
The organization he ran from his mother’s $3 million summer home has dissolved, his wife divorced him, and he is facing trial for the deadly 2017 Neo-Nazi march but says he cannot afford a lawyer.
“Generations of their descendants … almost certainly would have been millionaires if they had been able to keep their property…”
“They know who these bad apples are,” said former FBI agent Michael German.
The FBI has long been concerned about the infiltration of law enforcement by white supremacist groups and its impact on police abuse and tolerance of racism.
